Our guides monitor river levels constantly to ensure your safety and the best experience possible. If the river is too high: We will reschedule your trip or offer a refund. Most groups choose to keep their deposit with us, and we prioritize fitting them into our busy schedule. If the river is too low: No worries! Idaho is blessed with reliable water flows. The Salmon River bottoms out around 3,000 CFS even in late summer—still more water than many rafting rivers across the country! Plus, the Hagerman section of the Snake River is always a great option with steady flows year-round.

May to June: Cool mornings, warm afternoons (60°–80°F), with high water for thrilling rapids. July to August: Hot, sunny days (80°–100°F) with warm water, perfect for swimming and kayaking. September: Mild, pleasant weather (70°–85°F), great for fishing and fewer crowds. Always be prepared with a jacket and rain gear! Summer storms can bring rain and cooler temps. Mosquitoes are rare in this hot, dry desert climate. You may occasionally find other bugs, but are not an issue. Bringing bug spray can be helpful during May/June but is not needed once the summer heats up.

Rafting trips run rain or shine! A little rain can make the rapids even more exciting. We provide splash gear if needed, and our guides ensure you stay safe and comfortable.

Early Season (May–June): High water, big waves, and exciting rapids—great for thrill-seekers! Peak Season (July–August): Warm water, sandy beaches, and the best weather—perfect for families and youth. Late Season (September): Beautiful fall colors, no crowds, mild weather, and great fishing—ideal for a peaceful adventure.

Trips are rarely canceled due to smoke—people still have a blast on the river! If conditions become unsafe (such as an official wildfire closure), we will cancel or reschedule your trip for another time. Learn More
