Stay Connected on the Salmon River

Optional Starlink Access on Select Rafting Trips

The Reality of the Salmon River

The Salmon River flows through one of the largest wilderness areas in the lower 48.

There is little to no cell service once you enter the canyon.

That’s part of what makes this experience different. No noise. No signal. Just river, canyon, and camp.

For most guests, that’s exactly what they’re looking for.

The Concern

Not everyone can fully disconnect.

Some guests are running businesses.

Some have family situations that require check-ins.

Others just want the peace of mind of knowing they can reach the outside world if needed.

That’s real. And we plan for it.

Optional Starlink Access (By Request)

We can provide Starlink satellite internet on select trips with advance notice.

This is not standard on every trip. It is something we plan intentionally based on group needs.

  • Available for private groups and select custom trips

  • Must be requested ahead of time

  • Guide-managed setup

  • Limited, purposeful use

Included on select premium charter trips. Additional charges may apply for other trips. Must be arranged in advance.

How It Works

Starlink is used as a controlled access point, not an always-on amenity.

  • Set up at camp or during specific windows

  • Used for check-ins, messages, and essential communication

  • Not designed for constant streaming or full-time workdays

If your goal is to stay lightly connected, it works.

If your goal is to be on Zoom all day, this is not the environment.

Our Philosophy

We believe the Salmon River is best experienced disconnected.

That said, we understand that for some people, complete disconnection is the barrier that keeps them from coming at all.

Starlink solves that.

It allows you to step into a true wilderness environment without feeling completely cut off.

Most guests who bring it end up using it less than they expected.

Who This Is For

Starlink access tends to make the biggest difference for:

  • Business owners who need periodic check-ins

  • Parents who want to stay reachable

  • First-time wilderness travelers

  • Groups coordinating logistics outside the trip
