For years, the Salmon River High Adventure Base near Riggins, Idaho was reserved exclusively for organized youth leadership programs.
Now, for the first time, select summer sessions are open to the public.

Adventure Idaho Rafting has announced limited public access to its private riverfront base camp at French Creek, offering a 3-day Salmon River rafting trip starting at $299 per person.
The trip includes three distinct sections of the Salmon River, over 25 named rapids, two nights of private camping, and all meals.
Unlike traditional Idaho multi-day rafting trips that require relocating camp daily, this experience operates from one fixed private base camp.
Guests explore different river sections each day while returning to the same riverfront campsite in the evening.
“We’ve always operated this base for youth leadership groups,” said Adventure Idaho. “The infrastructure is already dialed in for efficiency, safety, and large group coordination. Opening a few sessions to the public allows families and smaller groups to access it at youth pricing.”

Built for Multi-Generational Family Rafting Adventures in Idaho
One of the unique advantages of this Idaho multi-day rafting trip is accessibility.
Because the camp is fixed and road-accessible:
Grandparents can relax at camp
Younger children can play on sandy beaches
Non-rafters can watch rapids from road pullouts
Adventurous teens can paddle inflatable kayaks

Few family rafting adventures in Idaho allow this level of flexibility.
Why Is It Only $299?
According to Adventure Idaho, pricing comes down to operational efficiency.
One fixed base camp
Peak-season capacity
Guests provide their own tents and sleeping gear

Most comparable 3-day rafting trips in the West range from $1,000 to $2,000 per person.
This offering delivers the same licensed guides and safety standards on the same Salmon River at a fraction of the price.
